1,975 New WV Business Registrations Reported by Warner for April 2026

Charleston, W.Va. – The WV Secretary of State's Office registered 1,975 new businesses statewide during the month of April according to Secretary of State Kris Warner. Counties that led the state in total businesses registered in April include Monongalia, Kanawha, Berkeley, Raleigh and Jefferson.

Top Five Counties in Total New Businesses Registered:

 1. Monongalia County - 134 new registrations

2. Kanawha County - 127 new registrations

3. Berkeley County - 120 new registrations

4. Raleigh County - 91 new registrations

5. Jefferson County - 78 new registrations

 

Of the 1,975 new businesses registered in April, 77 registered as non-profit and 210 qualified for one of the fee waiver programs offered by the WV Secretary of State's Office. Each program waives the initial registration fee for registering the business. The Boots to Business incentive also waives the first four years of Annual Report filing fees, offering potential savings of up to $250 for new business owners.
